North Borneo University College (NBUC)

The North Borneo University College (NBUC) is the first private university established in the State of Sabah. Established under Private Higher Educational Institutions Act 1996, recognized by the Ministry of Education Malaysia and a full member of The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU, UK). NBUC is a nationally accredited university with a distinguished historical name of North Borneo in acknowledgment of the history and diversity in ethnicity, culture, and language of the State of Sabah. The State of North Borneo was made a British protectorate in 1888.

The University was established in 2006 and rebranded to North Borneo University College in March 2015, as the first private university college in Sabah that offers a postgraduate program up to the doctoral level.

MAHSA (Malaysian Allied Health Sciences Academy) was established in 2004 by Senator Professor Tan Sri Dr. Hj. Mohamed Haniffa, a renowned clinical practitioner of Medicine. His vision was to create a center of academic excellence in the South-East Asian region. Senator Professor Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Haniffa currently serves as the Pro-Chancellor of MAHSA University and the Executive Chairman of MAHSA Group. Under his leadership, MAHSA University has evolved into a comprehensive Malaysian higher education institution offering a wide range of programs in various fields, including Medicine, Biosciences, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Health Sciences, Nursing, Business, Finance, Hospitality Management, Information Technology, and Engineering. These programs are available at the Diploma, Degree, Masters, and Doctoral levels. The core vision of MAHSA University is to produce qualified and compassionate professionals who can contribute to the country’s development, aligning with national goals and government transformation plans in the 21st century.

Universiti Geomatika Malaysia (UGM)

Universiti Geomatika Malaysia (UGM) started as a Vocational Centre in 2000, carving a niche in Land Surveying. Noting a growing demand for such a specialisation, Geomatika submitted an application for college status and obtained the approval from the Ministry of Education.

Due to overwhelming demand, Geomatika established its Department of Geospatial and Land Development and launched the Centre of GIS (CeGIS) Short Courses Program in Geospatial Technology as well as Certificate in Land Assistantship Surveying.
